Bananas & Baobobs Shea Butter Body Crème by Shea Terra Organics
January 23, 2013 | Body, Body Treatments, Reviews
I don’t know about you guys, but where I live, it’s cold as balls this week. I actually enjoy cold weather for the most part, but I hate how parched my skin gets, especially on my legs and arms. My Shea Terra Organics body moisturizers are getting a lot of use this week – especially the Bananas & Baobobs Whipped Shea Butter Ultimate Moisturizing Body Crème ($18).
This stuff smells exactly like banana pudding, and bears an uncanny resemblance to it too. Unlike pudding, however, its creamy consistency is firm, smooth. It’s consistency is actually similar to Kiehl’s Crème de Corps Whipped Body Butter ($38). The Kiehl’s product is actually really great too, but I think Shea Terra’s Bananas & Baobobs Crème outperforms it in terms of texture and longevity. The fact that the Shea Terra product is $20 cheaper is just an added bonus.
The ingredients for Shea Terra B&B Whipped Shea Butter Crème are: Pure spring water, USDA certified organic shea butter, baobob oil, natural emulsifying wax, natural banana extract, naturally based preservatives, less than 0.1% natural fruit/vegetable coloring.
This crème also has an added bonus- the cold weather has been causing the eczema on the insides of my elbows flair up (after no trace of it for years), but after using this crème a couple of nights in a row, it’s completely disappeared.
If you read this blog with any regularity, you’ve probably noticed that I talk about Shea Terra a lot. You’d think I was on their marketing team (and actually, I wish I was). The fact is, that company just makes some amazingly effective skin and body care products that are organic, affordable, and ethically responsible. As a result, I have no less than 20 of their products in my household at any given moment.
