True Blue Spa 60 Second Manicure Scrub & Paraffin Lotion Review
December 28, 2012 | Body Treatments
There are certain things in life I am terrified of running out of – oxygen, money, toilet paper, time, True Blue Spa’s 60 Second Manicure Hand Scrub and Super Softening Paraffin Lotion. Bath and Body Works is having their big semi-annual sale right now, in which all their True Blue Spa products are buy 2 get 2. I had planned on restocking my end-of-the world stores of Sugar Scrub and Paraffin lotion, but when I checked the status of my supply in the bathroom closet, it seemed I was doing just fine:
The reason I’m so obsessed with this stuff is that it’s miraculous, especially in the wintertime when my hands are constantly exposed to the warm, dry winds of my central heating system. The 60 Second Manicure Hand Scrub is comprised of sugar suspended in a moisturizing, jelly-like hand cleanser.
The directions say to rub it in your hands without water, but I like to add the teeniest splash of water to help it spread more easily. I rub it around for 45 seconds or so, making sure to scrub my cuticle area, rinse it off under lukewarm water, and voila! Baby hands! I mean that in the sense that they are soft and feel brand new, and not in the way that I suddenly have a weird pair of tiny, shrunken hands.
I could stop there if I wanted to, but I don’t. The True Blue Spa Super Softening Paraffin Lotion is the perfect finish for this ritual. It shares the same candied grapefruit fragrance, and it’s in my top 3 of all time as far as most moisturizing hand lotions go. My only complaint is that on a couple of occasions I’ve gotten a bottle where the pump is a little wonky and I can’t get the product out. Luckily, BBW has a pretty good exchange policy, so I just traded the wonky bottles for working ones.
If you have dry hands, either because of the climate you live in, you have a job that requires constant hand-washing, or you do your nails a lot (acetone is killer on the cuticles!), you need to hit up the BBW sale and stock up. This stuff, much like oxygen and toilet paper, is a lifesaver.
